Getting to Doornkop

Via Machadodorp (Recommended Route)

Take the N12 east towards eMalahleni (Witbank).
Continue onto the N4 towards Machadodorp/Nelspruit.
Exit onto the R541 to Machadodorp and then take the R36 towards Carolina.
After 21km, turn left at the Doornkop sign and follow the dirt road for 10km.
Estimated travel time: 2.5 – 3 hours.

Via Carolina

Take the N12 east towards eMalahleni (Witbank).
Continue on the N4, then take the R33 exit towards Carolina.
At Carolina, turn left at the ASTRON Garage onto the R36.
Follow the R36 for 21km, then turn right onto the dirt road for 10km.
Estimated travel time: 3 – 3.5 hours.

Note: The last 9km to Doornkop is a gravel road. Drive carefully and enjoy the scenic countryside!

Important Notices Before Your Visit

Cell Signal & Wi-Fi:

Limited cell reception: MTN users have the best signal, while Vodacom and Cell C have minimal to no coverage.
Wi-Fi: Available at Reception. Purchase vouchers:

Cashless Resort

Please note: Doornkop is a cashless operation. Only card payments are accepted.

Housekeeping

Chalets are serviced daily. Laundry services are available for a nominal fee. Notify Reception if you prefer no housekeeping.

Load Shedding & Power Outages

No backup power in chalets. Bring torches or rechargeable lights. Emergency lighting available for purchase at Reception.

Road Conditions

The last 9km is a gravel road. While generally in good condition, heavy rains can affect travel. Contact Reception for updates.

High-quality braai wood is available at the Doornkop Shop:

Quiet & Seclusion

To maintain Doornkop’s peaceful environment, no loud noise or music is permitted at any time.

Resort Check-In & Security

Check-in: 16:00 | Check-out: 10:00

Guests must present their Reservation Confirmation at check-in.

Doornkop Resort Activities

Fishing:
A permit is required and can be obtained at Reception. Adhere to all fishing rules.

Horse Riding:
Unavailable until 13 December 2024 due to annual vaccinations.

Holiday Entertainment:
Join us for exciting activities at the Clubhouse!

Hiking & Mountain Biking:
Trails are open, but can be muddy after rains. Drive carefully.

Child-Friendly Ponds:
Currently closed for renovations.
